New Guy - 72 Charger
Hey everyone. Im new to the forum with a 72 Charger. My dad owned the car fore about 10 years and did nothing with it so i dragged it out of the woods about a year ago in a "fix it and you can have it" scenario... Originally a 318 car it now has a rebuilt 440 (68 Magnum). After new suspension, wheels tires, brakes, and finishing the motor swap i now drive it daily. No pictures up yet but ill put some up soon just be gentle it still needs paint and some body work but money of course is a concern. (i sanded and rattle canned it when i dragged it out of the woods to stop the rust.) The looks rough but runs fine (for the most part, lol) and IMO its a ball to drive.

Well im a full time college student and work full time too... I got really lucky. I had some money put away for new metal for my 72 Mustang but it was in really bad shape and my dad was thinking about selling it... He knew the charger was in better shape and more worth saving so he gave me "something worth fixing." Me begging him to buy it for the last couple years probably helped... and thanks

So yea, shes rough but all there. I made adjustable shackles for the rear, steel craiger 15x10s in the rear and stock rallies i reconditioned and painted Black. Its a rebuilt 440 Magnum with Headman long tube headers, Petronix ignition, Performer RPM Air gap intake, Holley 4150 (over 800cfm right now but its a bit much.) The flat black is a bit more even now but i dont have any newer pics (i sanded and painted areas that chipped.) She runs and sounds great. It may take a long time to finish but at least i saved it =-)

Yea when i get ready for paint and body (which wont be a while.) im thinking Plum crazy with a black bumble bee stripe or black painted roof but who knows, there are 1000 other things on the list first... lol. Maybe flat black though i like the look of it... just done right next time... i have to this this one step at a time and it feels like i have miles to go lol... but so far i have enjoyed every step. Just got new jets and gaskets in the mail today for the carb and maybe a better coil and overflow tank next week, im using one i made out of a coolant bottle right now... its pretty bad but functional. (summer is about here in Florida, lol.) Also I painted the engine bay but that rust was sprayed everywhere is because a radiator hose poped off the stock radiator before i replaced it and sprayed everything with the rusty water/coolant. Its been replaced with an Summit aluminum cross-flow since. I know im answering questions never asked but hey, i love my car
