New guy from Houston, TX with a question

Hey everyone. I just picked up a brand spankin' new 392 challenger. I've got to say, this thing is SICK. VERY fast stock, and rides very well. One thing though...

I was told that you can't really mod the 392's much because of some limitation from the factory? Is this true? I hope not, because I want to start modding immediately so I can give a buddy of mine a run for his money. I was wanting to atleast do heads and cam if possible.

Just incase you're wondering, my friend has an '09 Corvette Z06 with a Lingenfelter 630 package and a few extra mods. It makes 561rwhp and 531rwtq. What would you recommend I do to my new baby so I can beat him at the strip?

Do you have a manual tranny in it? If so, then you will need a small harness and resistor. This is becuase when you hit a certain RPM in first the tranny will lock you out of shifting to second and third and you'll have to shift into 4th. One of my in-laws was telling me about this as his 2010 Challenger is like this.

welcome to the forum
I put the skip shift eliminator on my 5.7 Challenger and I like it but that should not have anything to do with performance
even without it, it will only skip @ very low RPM

The 6.4 is rated @ 470 HP (392ci) I would not say that is sick, there is always something faster
6.1 @ 425 HP
5.7 @ 376 HP
I am very impressed with the performance of R/T 5.7

Welcome aboard. I say an aftermarket under the hood turbo charger and retuned computer.
