New guy with a question.
Hi all, new to the forums but not to Mopars. Owned several Valiants here in Australia and a Dodge truck, they've all been A motors, slants or Hemi sixes, so I need some help.
I plan to put a 383/400 into a Jaguar XJS and need a couple of measurements to confirm it can be done. The XJS will be perfect for a big block, the B engine weighs 70lbs less than the V12 believe it or not, and has 50ft/lbs more torque stock. I really want to go with the B engine for it's ability to rev, it will more closely match the V12 and I hope to get the B engine to spin to 6000 rpm reliably and regularly. I could to that with a smallblock, but the extra torque across the board makes the B engine worth the extra effort. Plus, I've always wanted a big Chrysler engine in something all my life!
If anyone could tell me the overall width of the B engine across the rocker covers or heads and height from oil pan mounting fact to top of rocker covers, that would be great.

My race engines are 400's... But they have Indy Heads and valve covers on them.. Wil that matter??? If not I'll get the measurements on Sunday... I'm gone for the weekend but will be able to do that then... Let me know if the Indy heads and valve covers will matter... Mack
Hope I haven't left it too late (been out of town), but those measurements will be fine.
If I was too late, well, never mind!
