New Here

Hello all. Proud owner of a 73 Plymouth RR. Its a full restoration. Im a 100% disabled vet with alot of friends to help. Org a 400, I would like to up to a 440, looking now for a engine. Hoping to find a 78-79 mobile home with one. Any ideas out there? Semper Fi, Tim

The 440 has size appeal, but I know of one pretty stout (OK, stroked) 400 that's pretty impressive. Just saying that if you have the 400, might want to think twice about dumping it.

Got it at Iola car show from Pete. Been living there 5 years and finally found it.

Welcome!

Depending on where the crack it, it can be welded up. Be careful with the mobil home motors as I have heard the heads are a little different causing issues with fitting headers/exhaust manifolds.

Be sure to check out the casting number on the block... There were several 400 blocks that had extra thick webbing and much stronger than the stock blocks.. the casting number started with "230". If you have one of these blocks they are very good ones for race engines... I have two of them my self.. I believe they were late 72's or early 73's.....
