Hi All. My name is Paul Anthony and am a new member. I own a 1973 Plymouth Duster 340 4 speed all original and matching numbers. It is in excellent condition. The original Carter 4 Barrel Thermo Quad Carb requires rebuild. I am thinking of doing that or instead to retrofit a Holley or Edlebrock 600 CFM performance Carb. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

The Thermo quad is an excellent carburetor if done properly, one thing is the plastic fuel bowel gets brittle after fifty years so you need to take care there.
good luck with the rebuild….

Paul -

Agree with Iowan, the TQ can work very well on small blocks. If you can rebuild it, or have it done, that would be my choice.
If you decide to replace it, remember that the TQ is a spread bore, and will either need another spread bore carb, or a spacer/adapter if you go with a std square bore Holley.

And yeah, nice ride!
