Hello,
I'm new to the forum as I have been asked by friend here in Japan to help him get his 1960 Dodge Polara Wagon running again.

I'm no stranger to old cars I'm driving a 75 superbeetle right now and my Harley is almost as old.

My friend said it seems like it's not getting spark though it ran the previous day so I figured I'd start with the basics fuel,Spark etc..... I was looking under the hood and noticed something that seemed strange to me the coil appears to not be wired correctly (see pic) I thought that normally the condensor would be on the negative side of the coil and this one appears to be wired on the positive side.

Before I charge the battery and screw something up is this correct for these cars?

If it ran the other day, I wouldn't start with the wiring.
I'd check for fuel and then check the gap on the points. If the points aren't opening, you won't get any spark to the plugs.
You could disconnect the battery before you charge the battery, if your not sure but, charge the battery if you want to make any progress!

Thanks,
I just wanted to make sure the coil wires aren't wrong.
Pretty sure there were a few know it alls trying to help him get it started and some wires were fiddled with so I wanted to make sure this is correct before I dig any deeper.
I hate to start digging only to find out the answer was right there all the time.
I did check for fuel at the carbs and the fuel pump is working just have to charge the battery enough to turn it over.
