New to the site and classic car builds...
Hi all, username Imp81318, after the car I’m thinking about building, my 81 Imperial. My uncle bought this car many moons ago, fixed it up, gave it a paint job, put chrome wheels on it, and made it look good but the interior and drive train is all original as far as I know, except for the likely carb replacement under factory recall. I bought the car from my aunt when I turned 16 and drove it until I moved away for college, at which point I took it off the road and drove my parents’ 4-banger to save money on gas. It has been sitting in my dad’s barn ever since, waiting for a big block (in my mind at least). As I’ve gotten older (36 now) I’ve been thinking about starting on the project more and more and I’ve recently been wrenching a bit more with some friends so I’m thinking more and more about it, but now I’m leaning toward just building the original 318 rather than swapping it out. Naturally, I have a TON of questions about starting a project like this as it would be by far the largest automotive undertaking I’ve ever taken on.
So, that’s my introduction. I’m sure I’ll be asking a TON of questions as I continue to do my research and learn what all this project will really entail.

I'm with Dan here, stroke your 318. AC, transmission, exhaust and cooling will be so much easier! I'm not sure if you have a 7.25 diff or the 8.25 but you would need the larger.
If your still thinking of a big block that can happen but its more work and money.
