Newb 88 Dodge D100
New to the site and lookin for some help with my "new" truck. She has a 318 and an auto tranny. Someone swapped either the fuel injection for a carb, or the entire engine, and there's definitely been a tranny swap. I'm having a bit of trouble with my carb though. Any help would be appreciated.

After I start her up, everything idles well for about a minute, then gas leaks out the top of the carb. It seems like maybe there's an issue with the float valve being stuck or something like that. I'm getting more gas than my engine can use, and it eventually spits out the gas, stalls, and dies.

Thanks for the info. I was planning on pulling the carb and rebuilding her anyway since it'd be good to get into it anyway just to familiarize, but if the float sticks the darn carb probably hasn't been properly cleaned in a while and may be all varnished up. When I first checked the truck out a couple days ago, everything ran fine, but I'm pretty sure I hit a bit of a bump driving off post the other day, and she hasn't been the same since. Thanks again.
