Hey guys!
Been out of the loop for a long time. Owned a 71 rr and a 71 sebring plus. Right now ive got a #'s matching 72 sebring plus. BB, buckets, center console slapstick, dual sport mirrors. Needs complete resto. picked it up for $500. all orig. Nothing missing.Taking it to paint shop today!
I will need advice for daily driver set up on driveline. Looks like this forum is the place to be. Also have lots of parts i will list in classifieds.
im sticking with the original winchester gray. Almost went hi impact color though.
Looking forward to time on the forum. Engine is the earliest beefy 400. .003 over with some 906 heads that i had laying around. Machinist tried to swap blocks. He FOR SURE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. I got the best of him though. Still need to choose intake, cam, ignition, etc... Thanks in advance for the advice.
Tried to post a picture of the day i pulled it out of the walnut field when i bought it but wont let me? I'll get one up soon.
Really excited about resto! Cant hardly wait.
So here's first question. Does anyone know what size carb came on a 1971 rr with 383 automatic trans? 750, 850?

Welcome to the forum
if it was a Carter AVS it would be a 585 CFM
if it was a Holley 600 CFM
If it was a carter Thermo Quad they are rated @ 680 CFM but never would open up to that much CFM

Wow! that small? I figured bigger. Then i guess the brand new holley 600 i have sitting in the shop will do good. Ive got a nice clean eddy performer single plane sitting in the shop also. what's your thoughts on that combo for daily driver. Think dual plane would make much of a diff on.fuel consumption? Or more of just keeping my foot out of it?

600 CFM would be just right for a stock 383.
