Welcome to the forum... I'm sure you will be answering a lot of questions... Looks like you have a couple very nice Mopars. Be sure to check out our Mopar if the Month contest... See the rules in the stick on our home page.... Each member gets a vote and can nominate and second any car but their own... Then you get a vote and the car that gets the most votes wins....... Who knows maybe one of yours will be in the running.........

Thanks for the good info so far!
Like to throw this at ya.
Basic specs, 69 440, 30/over, 10:85:1, 465"/280 degree ISKY cam, 1 7/8" Pri Hookers, 3000 stall TQ, 3.23 rear, 4200# car. 850 DP atop an old style Edlebrock Torker. Vac at idle in gear, 10-11".
Based on what you said, I should be running a 5.5 power valve.
Currently have a 6.5 PV and everything seems to be running fine, worth changing?
Sorry, nowhere to run the 1/4 tests you described, these days.
And... the carb is a 1980 vintage, what would I have to replace to get the PV backfire protection? I thought it was the throttle body or a base plate?
OK, last question. As I said, seems to be running pretty well, any reason to "upgrade" to a newer Holley carb?
Thanks,
Archer

I do recommend a 5.5 PV part # 125-55
It might be OK with a 6.5
but to do the best I would change to a 5.5
You can get part # 125-500 to add the power valve protection to the carb you have
it is a check ball and spring it will come with the right size drill bit and instructions
Thanks

Thanks, it's on the list for the spring (if this snow ever melts...) Any thoughts on the modifying the carb to prevent backfiring from blowing the valve? Only happened once, but if it's an easy fix, might be worth it.
Thanks again,
Archer
