CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 27th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Grace Howell Runs 23.253/26.24, Now #2
Right Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.904/201.94, Now #1
Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 28.56 inches, adjusted altitude 3,805 feet, track temperature 129 degrees.
Howell with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line and pushed in the clutch. Rivera was straight down the groove...

Right Lane: Grace Howell No Time, Now #18; Best prior run: 23.253/26.24, Was #18
Weather conditions: air temperature 92 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 28.52 inches, adjusted altitude 3,882 feet, track temperature 117 degrees.
Howell with a lot of tire spin right off the line and clicked it off and then came to a stop on the track before firing the car back up and driving off the track. She had got a no time before she fired up the car. Gray with a good pass this time to get in the show.
