ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 41st annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 6.704/206.23, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 30.05 inches, adjusted altitude 1,722 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

Patrick with a good launch and a nice pass as he is making his first appearance on the NHRA tour since Dallas of 2003.
Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.650/207.02, Now #2
Right Lane: Jimmy Alund Runs 6.650/207.11, Now #1

A couple good looking passes here as they both run 6.650 seconds, that is a career best E.T. for Alund...Bob Benza's incremental times: 60ft-0.977 sec., 330ft-2.773, 660ft-4.271/164.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.561.
Jimmy Alund's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.777, 660ft-4.274/164.45 mph, 1,000ft-5.564.

This was a good drag race...they go to the number one and two spots. Vinnie Deceglie's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.752, 660ft-4.232/166.46 mph, 1,000ft-5.506.

Humphreys with problems right off the starting line and clicks it off. Johnson with a good pass to go to the number three spot.

Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.550/210.70, Now #1

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 41st annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 14.921/55.70, Now #21; Best prior run: 6.723/206.73, Was #21

8:15 p.m. - Nobile launched, went toward the centerline and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 6.676/206.92, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.704/206.23, Was #20
Right Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 16.286/45.30, Now #23; Best prior run: 13.449/63.03, Was #23

Humphreys launched, shook the rear tires and shut down before he reached 330 feet. Patrick had his best run so far but it was still not good enough to make the field.

Left Lane: Jimmy Alund Runs 6.638/207.02, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.650/207.11, Was #18
Right Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 6.783/202.55, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.795/201.82, Was #22

Alund was a little quicker and moved up one spot, but not far enough to make the field. Gaydosh was quicker than the first session but not quick enough to make the top 16.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.572/209.33, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.642/208.26, Was #18
Right Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.715/206.67, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.650/207.02, Was #19

Stanfield moved up seven spots with this ride. Benza was not as quick as the first session.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.571/210.64, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.637/210.37, Was #17
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.571/209.59, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.615/207.62, Was #15

Identical ETs for both drivers. Johnson moved up 15 spots in the order, Jones tied his career best to move up 11 spots.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.562/210.14, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.624/209.07, Was #17
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.571/210.37, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.601/209.75, Was #15

Johnson went down the groove to move up 15 spots. Brogdon moved up 11 spots with the third 6.571 second ET of the session.

Left Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 6.558/210.01, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.608/208.78, Was #17
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.564/210.34, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.596/210.01, Was #14

Yonke had the quickest run of his career to move into the number two spot. Anderson got from the bottom to the top fourth of the order with a strong run.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.589/209.65, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.600/209.82, Was #17
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.573/210.18, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.591/209.20, Was #15

Both drivers went right down the groove to move up in the qualifying order.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.564/209.43, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.598/208.94, Was #17
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.568/210.14, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.586/209.65, Was #15

Morgan and Gray continued a string of great runs to jump up in the order. This was a career best ET for Morgan and a season best ET for Gray.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.562/210.37, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.585/210.64, Was #15
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.560/211.23, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.586/209.75, Was #16

Gray had his career best ET to move up 11 spots in the order. Line had a similar jump with a nice pass down the quarter mile.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.562/211.00, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.571/210.18, Was #11
Right Lane: Vinnie Deceglie Runs 6.548/210.93, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.580/210.34, Was #16

Another career best ET...this time, it's Deceglie. Coughlin's run would probably have been even quicker had hi car not made a little move toward the center line as it came off the starting line.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.513/211.49, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.550/210.70, Was #2
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 13.293/64.13, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.576/210.11, Was #16

Johnson's car got a little loose as he launched, so he backed off. Edwards had a strong run that became the third quickest run in Pro Stock history and put him back at the top of the order.

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 41st annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 6.729/204.60, Now #21; Best prior run: 6.714/205.66, Was #21

3:33 p.m. - This was the last chance for the seven non-qualified drivers to make the field. Patrick, one of the drivers who had not qualified for the show, Had a clean run but was not quick enough to make the top 16.

Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.676/206.20, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.698/206.80, Was #20
Right Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 6.814/201.34, Now #23; Best prior run: 6.829/200.77, Was #23

Nobile came close but was just not quick enough to make the field. Gaydosh was quicker than he was earlier today, but could not push his way into the field.

Left Lane: Jimmy Alund Runs 6.709/206.23, Now #21; Best prior run: 6.696/206.73, Was #20
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.640/207.91, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.758/206.67, Was #22

Jones had his best run of the day but he just missed out on making the field. This is the second race in a row for which he has failed to qualify.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.663/207.91, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.659/208.07, Was #18
Right Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.679/206.29, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.678/206.54, Was #20

Krisher was not quick enough to make the field so he will not qualify for eliminations tomorrow. Benza will be going home as well. Everyone left in the staging lanes waiting to make their fourth qualifying attempt is already in the top 16, so the field is set.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.641/207.56, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.619/208.20, Was #15
Right Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.662/207.53, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.633/207.62, Was #16

Stanfield and Humphreys were looking to move up in the order but neither ran quick enough to improve their positions.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.629/209.14, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.571/210.64, Was #11
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.631/208.26, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.607/208.49, Was #14

Today is Gaines' birthday but he did not get an improved qualifying position as a gift. Johnson will also stay where he was in the order.

Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.583/209.92, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.584/209.30, Was #13

Johnson had another good run today but he'll stay in the 13th spot in the order.

Coughlin had the best run of the round so far, but it did not change his place in the order.

Coughlin is 23 - 10 against Johnson in prior events. Johnson has problems with the burnout, going back to the waterbox after his initial burnout, and then gets real sideways on the second burnout. Johnson with the starting line advantage, but Coughlin has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree. Johnson had problems and Coughlin runs the second quickest pass of the round, but will have to face Edwards with the quickest pass of the round so he will give lane choice.

This is the first time S. Gray and J. Gray have faced each other in eliminations. Shane gets the starting line advantage against dad and never looks back for the win by 0.0378 seconds (approximately 12 feet).

11:00 a.m. - This is the first time Edwards and Gray have faced each other in eliminations. Edwards has been in seven finals before this in 2010 and won six of them. His only loss in the final round came in Gainesville when he lost to Jason Line. This is Gray's first final round. The farthest he has gone before this was last week in Chicago. He lost there to Jason Line in the semi-finals.

Edwards was quicker off the starting line and increased his advantage on the track to take his seventh win of the season with 12 more events still to come.
