727 trans rebuild gone south.
cant get the piston to all the way in drum
thinking about peheating drum 200 degrees first any sugestons ?

Is it the same piston that came out?
I would definitely not heat it. It should go right in.
Something is in the way.

The piston needs to go in straight. Look for any scratches that could be stopping it.
