Best way to empty old fuel tank of gas?
I just bought a 1974 Dodge Charger ($700) and I am attempting to start the engine. It is a 318 and it hasn't run in 4 years. I tried to pump out the old fuel in the tank with the Harbor Freight hand pump, but the anti-siphon device in the fuel pipe prevented the hose from entering the tank. The tank is on "E" so it's almost empty. I don't want to pull the tank. Any ideas?

X-2 on the electric that 62 mentioned, but if it has that small amount of gas I'd be inclined to bite the bullet and drop the tank... 1. you can empty it 2. you can have a look-see in tank for 'crud' 3. it can be rinsed out easier if it does have a build up of gum/varnish. And of course you can then see the aforementioned possible trouble areas for rust....
OR you can just pour in 10-15 gals of gas and HOPE it will dilute it enough to not cause problems( very doubtful)
Plugged filters/carbs are never fun....
