I have a 1966 Fury III and I want to retrofit the A/C system, but I don't know where the adapters go. The only places I see where the adapters could fit is the brass cap that is in front of and behind the compressor. Also the pic is a very old pic, so that's why it doesn't look to clean. Also, where can I get a new dryer(that would fit and use xh7 dessicant) and new seals for the system(compressorand all)?

 

The caps on the compressor are indeed the charging ports. I have not kept up on what/ where parts are available

The 66 Plymouth manual does not use the x-xx page numbering system, so you have to "play" with page numbers to find the section you want. Not that difficult.

 

If you want to repair the AIR system I would replace everything in the engine compartment. Contact Classic auto air www.coolmyclassicmopar.com or ??? for a complete kit

 

Your high pressure is the brass cap on the left head of the compressor. The other brass cap is on your suction line on the back of the compressor. The "O" rings are available at any auto parts store. Get the kit that has the green ones. Pull you compressor off and drain all of the old oil out of it. Buy two cans of A/C flush and flush out all of your lines, condensor coil and evaporator coil. There is an A/C guy on the eggbay whom sells old rebuilt compressor and new driers. He is actually located in Fort Worth area. You will use different oil when you convert to 134a. You need a service manual such as 440 mentioned to find out how many ounces of oil you we need to pour into you system.

DO you have a vacuum pump ? You need to see if the system will hold a vacuum before doing repairs. Your 40 year old compressor may have bad seals, bad hoses any number of problems
