Clean Intake

What can I soak my intake in it has black deposits in it can't get it out. I was going to buy a 5 gallon pail of brake cleaner and just soak it in that for a while.

Cast and I was hitting it with the torch before back and forth and it was coming off a little but it is been baked on, it's been on there for a while. Thinking of hot tanking it, might be cheap at the local machine shop can't see it being more than $50

Moe you are like my brother...I put all my parts in an old Bar-B que and turn it on high for an hour or two...When the part comes out paint, carbon, grease, whatever just brushes away and it is clean as a whistle...I do that on heads intakes small brackets etc...it is like having a hot tank/box which alot of machine shops dont use hot tanks anymore...They have a big hot box and clean part in this fashion so the by-product is ash and much easier to dispose of...Bill

They dont do it anymore to many Envromental issues...I dont work anymore so I dont have the access I use to...But the local engine shop here does it the way I was saying in a big Hot box type thing and all the debris falls into a big draw on the bottom that is dumped into a dumpster and is evriomentaly friendly...Thats where I got the idea and all the debris falls into a can under the bar-b que...it works for me...The only issue is it does smoke for a while until the grease burns off...I do have a question though is hogwash where you take a bath/shower....Now that funny I dont care what side of the country your from...LMAO....Bill
