i yanked the 318/727 as a single unit and didn't find it too difficult. just watch the nose cone of the tranny when it comes out. the reason i did it that way is because i'm hoping to freshen up the 727 as well as the engine, so i figured i'd yank 'em both.

If you have an extra front driveshaft yoke to slip on the output shaft, it will prevent tranny fluid from leaking out when the trans is tilted that far back.

Use an engine tilter and you will do it safely.

Also jack the rear of the car up in the air as high as your jack stand will go. I did it four times with a 318 and an 833 OD tranny.

excellent advice with jacking the back of the car up. when i was pulling the engine out of my fury, we must have jacked the front and back six times, depending on where we needed the car lifted.

lowering it makes it look cool, but very difficult to get under.
