Here in the North East and getting ready to roll. I need suggestions for paint wash/buff work. I have read alot and have a system for the begining of the year. What are some of the cleaning/polishing tips you guys use.
  1. wash
  2. clay
  3. wash
  4. wax
  5. wash
  6. polish

I like to use Mother's products. Its easy to use and the directions are easy to understand. Plus the results are great if you take your time.

I always wash the car down, then sham it and use miguaires spray wax, takes about an hour no wax residue. I dont drive mine alot but when I do get it out it still shines. thats all I do, a painter told me that if you wax the car too much every summer, that youll break through the clear on the paint and cause it to crack. goes faster if you use a buffer wheel.

I have been using liquid diamond, comes in a yellow spray bottle with an electric trigger and wipe it with a microfiber cloth. Turns out great, wash first, put on wax, can be wet or dry, then I just run another cloth over when I finished putting the wax on. It looks great, and I am sure it would look even better with a buffer, but haven't tried yet.

What's the clay do?

the clay is supposed to take out the impurities/ deep dirt from the paint. Suggested to do two times per year.
