Claying? if you mean buffing out the paint?
what are you using for the buffing compound? what speed buffer 1200, 1500, 2000? are you using a orbital to clean up the finish buff?

If urethane use 3-M micro polish for the finish buff and a light medium buffing compound from 3M i use heavy duty compound rarely. for light oxidation unless its new paint, don't wet sand it and don't use a lot of heavy compounds or you'll burn through you paint.
start with a small area with polishing first you'll be surprised, at times it doesn't take much.
remember hold the buffer flat keep the pad clean with your buffing spur or your finish will have swirl's.
good luck..

claying

I washed the car then used meguires clay bar to get all the impregnated dirt and level the paint some. i did it all by hand no power tools yet. I will be polishing the car with wizards turbo cut first, then finish cut, with a sealer polish for the final. the only powertool aplication will be the turbo cut at 800 to 1200 rpm the rest is hand rubed.

Those clay kits are amazing, I use the Meguiars kit on my Dakota since it spends all its time outside. Unreal the crud they get off the paint!
