1950 Coronet value?
I have my eye on a 1950 Coronet that came up for sale. car has been in a barn since the early 70's. Brakes are shot, but it runs and drives with no issues. Interior is nice. Paint is fine. Chrome is daily driver condition. no major holes/dings/rust. Two door coupe, flat six.
The guy is asking 2k. My first impression was to offer 1750.
Any thoughts?

Something to look in to before buying this car. I came VERY close to buying a 1957 Coronet. The reason I didn't purchase the car is, it's extremely hard to get parts for it. I contacted over 15 places to see if I could get chrome clips. No one has them. One place suggested I send them an example and they would see if one of their generic chrome clips were close.
Lots and lots of chrome on those cars, lots of clips (not so much on the year you’re looking at). It would suck to junk yard hop for years collecting parts only not to be able to put the chrome back on when it's finished. I'd take a good look; make a list of everything you need and start looking and calling around first.
If this was a Chevy or Ford no problem, can get parts for them from a nice list of vendors (its why there’s so many 57 Chevy’s!) How many 1957 Coronet or Custom Royals do you see? For that matter how about that 1957 truck (best looking truck in the world imo). Never see them. Older the Chrysler the harder it is.
Not writing this to deter you from taking the project on. Just trying to save you heart break and provide a bit of caution that I hope is helpful.

Thanks for the heads up Bradster. There are a few problems with the chrome on the car (pitting, some road wear, and just plain old and dull) but overall, the car is in pretty nice shape. The only rust on the car is right in front of the tail lights on both sides (patina one side, cancer on the other)
Other than that, the car is clean. 90k miles, but its a I6 car, so thats managable (still 120k less than my jeep).
That in mind, I intend to turn this car into my daily driver until I can afford to turn it into either a Red Ram car (yeah, I know, not the right year, but, eh) or drop a 340 into it.
Any other thoughts on wheter the price is right? (photos coming soon, I promise!)

Take a real good look over everything. Double and triple check everything as well.
Also, start low on the price and work your way up. last thing you want to do is start just under the asking price and have them say "Sure!" and then wish you went lower. Give them the excuse that parts are hard to come by, these are not desirable cars, etc..
