318 noisy valve train

Hi all. Just after some answers if possible.
my engine has a stock bottom end and heads, never been off. The comp cam is a 268H. He installed new standard lifters and pushrods (7.5 inch in length) and of course standard rockers on standard shafts. Edelbrock performer intake topped by an edelbrock 500 AVS carby,HEI ignition and a complete full 2.5inch exhaust with extractors and x pipe. It all works well. However it has valve train noise, between say 2-3000rpm it’s got like a sewing machine noise. Not overly loud but annoying. It wasn’t there before so I don’t want it now. On comps website it states that one will get valve train noise if you do not use adjustable rockers! Okay so I bought adjustable rockers and shafts from a good ol 273 V8 but the problem is no one,not even comp has answered my email, can tell me what length the pushrods should be? Obviously they need to be cup and ball.
surely someone has done this same mod?
Ive never set valve lash before but am willing to have a try just need the right length pushrods.

thank you in advance.

hello RacerHog. Actually I forgot that part but the valve springs were upgraded to heavier ones as recommended by comp so no not them making the noise!

OK... Than other than maybe the wrong Push rod length ..... I have no idea why it would make that noise... How did you come up with using the 7.5 push rod? Are you sure you got the write ones in the ball and cup and not maybe a 7.342 or something like that? You my need to use a push rod length checker to make sure you get the rite ones you need...
Food for thought... Just Maybe you have the valvetrain upset over a missed match parts or something of the sort.... Keep us posted... Im curious now...

Hello. The standard pushrod length in my engine which is ball and ball. with the standard steel stamped rockers is 7.5inches this is correct.
but once I change the rockers over to the adjustable type from the 273 Then it will be ball and cup pushrods. I do have some. They’re 7.25 inches in length. Correct or not. I’m yet to find out?
