I don't know that in the Scout application, that their would be a substantial benefit for that addition? My thought would have been to increase the cooling efficiency and or increase the water delivery speed. As for damaging the block, Naaaaaaaaa.... The only problems most of them had with the heads was a burnt valve, and in some cases a cracked head. But not from the cause of with or without those particular holes.

As for International and Dresser, I have had the most pleasure of working on them also. Scouts, Travelall, 1200D, 1210, 1310, Cargostar 1810 , Loadstar 1600. 304's 345's, 3208Cat's, and the Dresser line, Oh what fun... They sure loved and got a great deal on Black wiring...lol We still get to work on the new ones today.. City had a lot of that junk for us to work on... I think I have forgotten more about Internationals than most folks would have ever known...

The the holes are in mid to late 74 change..
I've never had cooling problems with either style head.

With a casting date of November 8th 1974 in the emissions tag is for a 1975 your 440 should have had number 3769975 heads on it, because it's a 75 model engine.

Keep us posted on how things turn out. Hope the rest of the assembly don't fight as much...

Thanks Bob for keeping this shi× thead on top. The 75 head 3769975 is replaced by the same head as the 76 - 78 4006452 head # 3769954 go figure?
And you have something special, BS.

What I've been trying to say is is you have been sweeting over shix that dont matter, this is NOT an IH. It's a BB Mopar, it's cool and it's got the Power to bust your drive shafts and axles so what are you worried about.

No disagreement hear Tom.... It is not a huge issue or a deal breaker for a mild build...
Only thing I was getting at. Was what was the true important use of the holes for Scouts application purpose. I just didn't see the need also.
But I... Like you... Might have just put a good known set of heads on it and ran it...
