440 project help.

hello, i have a 440 1977 that i riped out of a dodge c class motor home. me and my dad removed the heads to transport it and basicaly reduced it to a short block. what i want to do with it is shove it in a good little A body. (one i dont have yet). what i found was it must of been rebuilt beacuse it was .30 over and had a 440 all aluminum intake, and the insides were really really clean almost brand new looking. So what i want to really know is what can i do to get the greatest preformance out of this short block. now i know that later 440s specialy motor home ones are low compression. what can raise the comp and make what i have preform to its highest potential?

thanks

Erik

The replacement pistons should have a part Number. Look it up.. Also you could check the deck height of the pistons

this may not be of help but it is about a 440. a friend of my dads bought a 1972 charger 440 race car real cheap. the seller was hiding money from a ex wife. the buyer was told the engine had damage and needed the taken apart. my dad found 2 pistons was damaged by detonation. here is the strange thing the pistons was .010 over. even stamped / cast as such. we found out this was done at the factory. with pistons that could NOT be bought from chrysler.

Check for bore wear a shop can do this or you then see if it needs bored or not. find some 4006452 they have hardened seats figure your compression ratio and valve clearance and have them cut to 10:1
