65 FURY CARB CARZY ??

HELLO, NEW HERE. HAVE 65 FURY II 318 . JUST 54K, MILES. COMPLETED MANY NEW PARTS, PLUG WIRES , FUEL FILTER , POINTS ,DISTRIBITOR, COIL, ALTERNATOR, WATER PUMP, BELTS, HOSES, ETC. SHE JUST HAD CARB KIT. NOW SHE STOPS RUNNING WHEN IN GEAR, RUNS FINE IN PARK SHADE TREE GUY, ADJUSTED MY CARB FLOAT, SCREWED IT UP. I HAVE TURNED IDLE SCREW , AND TRIED TO ADJUST AIR /FUEL MIX. WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST? THANKS FOR HELPING A ROOKIE

Get you a vacuum gauge...put it on the manifold vacuum source and try to adjust the idle mixture screws for the highest vacuum you can get. 10-14 inches of vacuum are good. Too low and the motor will die when you put it in gear.

Make sure the vacuum lines are hooked up -- no vacuum leaks !!!
