Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have a 66 dodge dart gt 225 and I am having throttle linkage issues. I have seen the drawings from the manual on how it should look but the rod comes out 4 inches below the level of the carburetor cam where it should connect. Does the rod just go up at an angle and connect to this using the rubber sleeve that is encased in metal? Where can I get that piece? and if not how should it work. here is how I have it now and it doesn't work. Its hard to find much more info on these. I don't get how or why it would just go up at such an angle. The thing is obviously meant to be straight. Also it looks like someone cut the rod off and re-welded it onto the "V" shaped piece.

 

Not sure from that photo.... I think its supposed to pull?
