back in the day, most if not all taillight bezels on the gtx were dark silver or argent. Anyone know why they started making them in red?

Looking around on the internet i saw that they are available both ways... My father had two GTXs before and he said that he never saw the red on the bezels.... just wondering if anyone knew why they started making them in red

I never had paid any attention...

Now with that being said... The 1971 GTX my brother bought new had painted tail lamp bezels...
