68 Plymouth fury 3

Hey guys, I’m currently working on a 318 motor out of a 68 Plymouth and I noticed that the steel tubing that goes from the bottom of the exhaust manifold to the air filter housing was broken at the exhaust manifold. There’s no compression nut that hold the tubing in but instead the tubing is just stubbed into it? Do you know how to fix this or install a new line? Or can it just be pinched off? I’ll try and attach a picture of what im talking about. I might have enough stubbed out of there to clamp onto it and then run a new line that way but i could use some better advice

Are you sure it went to the Air Cleaner or did it go to the Carb Choke housing???
I dont remember what the purpose of that tube was ?
