'71 Challenger R/T w/340 - value?

Located a decent numbers matching '71 Challenger R/T w/340 Automatic. Overall condition is "fair" with all body panels in decent shape. 340 is currently on a stand, interior is "ok" and the seller has had it for 30 years. He is asking $10k...i know the an R/T with a 340 is somewhat rare, so is this a good deal? Thanks

Everything goes for krazy money today, do you have pictures? How much rust does it have and how many panels need replacement?

If there are only small rust issues and all the parts it might be a good deal. You can spend way to much on repairing rust for panels and time to make sence of a build.

I'm new here, and I'm not an automotive expert whatsoever, but the 340ci LA engine is very rare and highly valued because it's a small block V8 with a lot of cubic inches and has excellent horse power to weight ratio. A Mopar expert friend told me that the 360ci LA engine, though with more cubic inches, had a different stroke; the 340ci LA engine is sweetness! Because your car is an E body car, your 340ci LA engine should be able to push it without panting.

yes the stroke of the 340 shares the same stroke/crank as the 273 and 318.
has a slighlty bigger bore then the 360. by 40thou i believe.
