727

is it normal for you to feel your torque converter from an idle in drive to first gear jerk you a little and make your engine load down, not quit a sputter but almost, i screwed with my idle mixture both ways, and it didn't seem to change it, it just seems different than it used to, maybe more or less power at those rpms than before or just running so much different than stock that you can feel the load? if i floor it it doesn't do it, if i ease into it doesn't. maybe its time for new plugs

I have a 727 automatic and it seems to hold in the lower gears to long. Just on a normal easy take off it does not shift up to 2nd until between 20-25 mph and kind jerks like you describe. With the vacuum problems I been having I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it?

i would imagine its at around 650 at idle because it only gets up to about 10 on a flat surface idling, sounds like 600 in drive to my ear, its just when i lay on the gas to part throttle real fast, idk, ima just drive it.

Have you pulled the pan yet to look at the fluid? I am wondering if your TC is breaking down.
