Acid dip a truck body parts before painting?

Is there anyone still doing this anywhere especially in Texas or near North Texas?

Seems like the best way if you are going to go all the way with a restoration.
Thanks PG

Back in the day, acid dipping was used to lighten the sheet metal when weight reduction was at a premium.
Most shops use some type of media blasting these days. Acid will probably remove too much metal for anything except a full race rig.

There are companies that dip auto body parts to remove paint but acid is not used.
