Adjusting my drum brakes

It's wicked late/early, whatever you want to call it. Can't really sleep so I'm thinking about adjusting my rear brakes. Never really messed around with it. I know I should take off the tire and either tighten/loosen the star adjuster, to where I turn the wheel back it should stop, how should I go about it?
