Benefits of Mopar service?
Hi all,
My 1 year warranty and free servicing is about to run out on my 300c. I have been getting it serviced at a genuine Chrysler Mopar service centre Berwick and they have been great. But as the free service is running out I'm wondering if its worth me paying that extra for the genuine parts etc or can an average mechanic do the same job?
Also now the warranty is up I'm thinking about doing some modifications to give a bit more punch. I was wondering what would be a good place to start? I'm guessing the usual; air filter, extractors/exhaust?
Thanks in advance!

Who makes their parts? Are you saying an O.E. part bought at a Dodge dealer in a box that says Mopar on it isn't an O.E. Mopar part? My dealer warrantys the part AND the labor on genuine parts, local monkeys don't. Oil changes and such...no difference. Major/minor repair...dealer, I'm not effing around.

Be careful changing exhaust.. Their are more and more states enacting laws for emissions so do it at your own risk.. I just got F over by Cal. Had to replace a perfectly good cat that passed smog but not the visual part # check

Lynn... Was it the card that the installer was suppose to mail in so it could be installed in the system??
I know the Guy at the shop we deal with has to fill out a card and mail it in for reference...

There are some requirements and information that only dealer mechanics are privy to because they have been doing it for years and received updated training along the way. Take, for instance the guy who took his truck for a differential lube change at a corner garage and they forgot the "posi" additive. If they had remembered they would have used generic stuff when the additive was Mopar specific. The dealer discovered the mistake ( due to color ) but the customer paid a huge bill. There are just some things that are best left to dealers regardless of cost but in the end, it's the individuals decision of who is accountable for costly errors. I use to go to Mr Lube when it was enclimite weather but one day discovered the crank case was a liter short of oil, my car takes 7 liters. I now only deal with people I trust implicitly and who are wiling to take ownership for mistakes. So far, the dealers are the only ones that I've really found without discovering the hard way. Chose wisely.

Were ever you go..... The shop is only as good as the tech working there....
If he is a reliable mechanic... He will not touch your vehicle if he is not comfortable working on it or providing the service.
