Big gap at the back of the hood 1962 Dodge pickup

There is a big gap at the back of the hood on my1962 Dodge pickup, how do you fix this? I've tried new springs & adjusting all the bolts in every position possible & there is still a 1 inch gap.....Tried doing what it says in this link but it doesn't seem to help much: http://www.sweptlineparts.com/images...Adjustment.jpg

Is it the correct hood? Do the body lines line up in the front ?

Is the gap between the hood and cowl, or between the hood and fenders? How's the body line between the doors and front fenders look?

Can you elongate the holes in the brackets?

Ya, I think I'm going to have to make the holes a little longer with a grinder or something, because nothing else seems to work...
