I'm rebuilding a 383 and im wanting to get a certain cam shaft sound but i don't know what it is that im looking for
its kinda like a rough idle but really slow
the Rpms go down then go back up contentiously
whats the part number or lift or duration that makes that sorta sound?

 

that alot of them, your looking for somthing with a long duration , any duration above the 280's and a lobe speration over 108 will have a rough lumpy idle,
the wider the lobe sepration the worse your idle gets and less low end
