dana 60

hey guys i just got my narrowed dana 60 from the shop with strange 35 spline axles and new posi section total cost 1700 buck. I put under my 69 dart and added the gear oil and additive to it . two days later I found oil leaking down the backing plate wow was I surprised all new usa parts installed. I have not called the shop yet but is it the outer axle seal that is leaking and is it easy to fix. Once the dana 60 is set up I can just pull the axles and put back easiy right?. Hate to take it back if its just a seal I can change again myself. Thanks

Not worth the trouble ! Just pull the axle and change the seal

assuming it is a bad seal and not a bad weld

Depends on where it was welded and the seal design. I THINK you have to remove the pressed on bearing to replace the seal, I could be wrong though. Depending on when the work was done and what was included in the price, I'd bring it back to the shop and have them replace it for free.
