Didn't pass emissions

Got the Cordoba running right and took it to the emissions. They said the mixture is too rich. How do I adjust that and is there a way of knowing it is done right?

Ok, here's whatcha do... I dont know how tough they look over your car when they do the test. This is how I got a bunch of cars through emission tests.
I should add though if you are running rich you should get your carb adjusted..ie: find info on your carb model and adjust it yourself.

Ok...so, 1. Take out the air filter. 2. New plugs 3. dump about 1/2 gallon of methyl hydrate into your gas tank. 4. Take the car for a good rip, avoid standing traffic at all costs. 5. Go for test with as little idling as possible.
Oh yes and put the best octane gas you can find in her.

A small trick I have used in the past: right before you take it for testing, change the oil and filter. I have found this to work most times especially if the readings are borderline to start.

It turned out that they were testing the car on things they weren't supposed to test so it technically passed the first time(they measure CO at idle then rev to 2500 rpm then back down to idle to measure again. They mistakenly measured at 2500 too). I found out how to adjust the carb with the screws and took it the next day and failed the retest due to hydrocarbons. So I took it to a mechanic who found the error on the form, took the car to emissions to pass it.

Rock on. those places in Denver will rip you off. i hated doing that when i lived there. Had one cool dude who helped me tune my 68' Chevelle on the spot to help her pass, but that was it.
