Emergency brake

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
An emergency brake is a separate brake system in a vehicle for use in case of failure of the regular (hydraulic or air) brakes and commonly used as a parking brake in automobiles.
In today's world it is more commonly referred to as a parking brake. It is in fact and was designed as an "emergency brake" in case of brake failure. The reason I posted is because the original OP stated he didn't need it.

Very correct. I have lost hydraulic lines in the past and had to use the "parking brake". It brought me to a "Park position" safely in that emergency.

This is pretty old and useless to go on about. I already said it's in my driveway, NOT on the road yet. I had already stated I'm making new brake links to put in, and I found one reason why the parking brake was screwed up, the guy before me hung his exhaust off the cable with a rigged clamp.

you have experience what is called a "thread hijack".

What is being debated now has no relation to why your drums wouldnt go on. We're talking about how an e-brake helps nowaday.

well, i guess that is somewhat related.
