A lot of talk going around about engine and chassis information for all us Mopar guys. To stick my two cents in, recommend the Carroll Shelby engine performance and chassis performance books. So look...hard to find and dated...yeah. But I built a 76 duster bracket car.....030 over 440, .509 purple shaft, tarantula intake with 750 DBL pump, 727 with 3800 stall turbo action converter, 4.88 83/4 rear with 3200 lb super stock springs. Ran 12.697@113-5 mph. 31/13/15 mts in the rear. All I can say is this....pretty much used these books as my Bible, and the car ran the number dead on. Did I need more can? Hell yeah. Did I need more carb? Hell yeah. 60 foot time was a 1.6. Built this car on a budget, but it ran the number, whether it was the et/ mph/HP/torque, etc. So yeah, they are older books, have been dated for years, and aren't full of the latest tech, but there is TONS of info for the Mopar guys, so there's my 2 cents worth. And it proved itself over and over again at the strip. Nothing for Nothing. Speed safe!!!
You’re preaching to the choir, those books will get a 3200 lbs car in the tens, I know this first hand.
Yup, no doubt. Lot of real good info, esp sections in the back on drag strip Dyno. If I had had finished what I started with the cam/ carb, and a fresh set of slicks I'd have been 10.0-9.80s all day. It was satisfying to talk to a couple of other guys who were running the same combos. And most satisfying to know that I built it all myself( with exception of machining), even ported the heads with the Mopar templates. Good stuff
