engine swap help ..dodge 318 to amc 360
engine swap help. i got an free runing amc 360 out of an 1980 jeep wagener awd i want to put it in my 1982 d150 2wd has a 727 a trans.the 318 is cracked . will it line up with the trans or know how hard it will be .im 20 and this is an fist for me ,took 5 hours to get that amc 360 out hop not fot nothing any advice i will be craitfule thanks ps i cant spell.

You can not bolt in an AMC 360 in place of your mopar 318. I explained it in the other post, they do not have the same bellhousing bolt pattern.
Yes Mopar (Chysler) bought out AMC back in the mid to late 70s (if i remember, may have been the 80's) but they did not do much to the FSJ production line. When Chysler took over making the FSJ, they left it alone as AMC did a pretty good job of building them, minus an oil presure problem and some wiring here and there. But Chrysler left the AMC 360s a lone and kelt making them all the way up til 1990 when the last FSJ rolled off the line.
If someone told you that the 82 AMC 360 would bolt in, bring the motor back to that person, unless you have a FSJ, a wrangler that needs a 360, or an AMC car that needs that motor.
