A body, B body, C body etc. are the unibody platform the cars are built on. Trucks are usually grouped by year 72-80, 81-93 and so on.

Nothing there on 74 d200 pick up. Body types .The reason why i asked. Its not that important. The research ive done which included the website u sent me . Says nothing about a pick up. Only specifys passenger cars. No big deal. But hey, let me throw this 1 at yeah. Ok, 74 d200 pick up. 360 mtr. Bought it 11 yrs ago from an outlaw biker. 600 bucs. Best vehicle i ever had in 50 yrs. Wondered was it gunna register off the top it did. Lol iN Wa. St. Now Cali N/P Been thru her 3 times. Prac new everythin. Im jus askin a few questions ive wondered about here an there. Over 11 yrs. Question, It Has a orielys "special" edelebrock intake with a 4 barrel edelebrock carb i beleve 1406. I figured u cant jus slam that on top without sum type a upgraded cam. Mtrs got some juice to it. Ive replaced the tranni twice . a727. Torqueflight . It has a 12 inch torque convertor . Doin sum researchin i found that a 12 inch torque convertor is for steel crank or high performance engines . Your thoughts?

It sounds like the 360 is working for you with the cam you have so why change it?
the torque converter you have will work with an aftermarket 360 flexplate, it has the balance weights on it instead of the converter.
I would not start making big changes to the 360 with out a rebuild first or you wouldn't see changes in performance....

Thank u . At some point im going to pull the heads pull the shortblock & have it rebuilt. Its time. Everytime ive pulled the plugs ( at least once a yr). Thier clean with no abnormalities. No sign of anytype of oil deposits nothin . But ive noticed she dont have the same zip it used too though. I wonder if just doin the head gaskets would give it added performance. Although thiers no signs of a bad headgasket other than lack of compression.

Not going to gain much from just installing head gaskets.... What you possibly have is the lower compression 360... and to raise that compression you would need to install new pistons...And at that point my recommendation would be to overhaul it.
Just my 2 cents
