Hi all I was looking at and have been for years to get anothe garage put up. I've taken over the house garage (cant put our cars in it) with my Coronet R/T project.

Im looking to put one up out back of my house to put the Coronet in and also the lawn mower.

I thought about doing a wood built garage but they seem a bit high. I then thought about all block garage but that will probly be as high if not higher then a stick built garage.

I wanted to know has anyone used Steel Master or know of anyone who has?

Also do you know if you can paint them?

Tell me what you think of them if you have used them or seen one. Also any ideas of what other directions I should head in.

Im looking at a 20x24 or 24x24 with a 9-12 foot ceiling.

I have talked to steel master buildings in the past and they would call ever week to a month and bug me that they had this deal and that deal right now.

I was about to buy one but again the stroke happend and I was unable to do it.

Any garage's that helped build have been stick built, I do think if you choose a 12 foot side wall that you would like the steel building better.

 

Mine is 40 x 20 block.... But we do have hurricanes here in Florida...

 

Nice looking garage very nice and great size to do a few projects.

Im going to check agian into block and see. I think labor will be my biggest cost.

The Steel Master buildings start at I think 3500-4500 and I can get some help putting it up.

I can also get the concret poured and work it down myself (what a job) I think. I helped my dad do a footer on additon we did to the house and it had to be perfect level and smooth.

I keep looking at those type of buildings from Steel Master.

 

What part of the country are you in? Weatherwise.

 

Im in VA we do get some high wends at time, rain and snow and also ice.

 

Just an FYI, my neighbor built one and before he poured the slab he ran tubing under it, connected to a boiler. The heat comes up from a warm floor and makes it a real pleasure to work in.

 

That is a nice system, but you have to be on really good ground. Any movement from frost ect. and the tubing will crack and then you have big problems. BTW most towns in our Province won't let you put up that style of building, not pretty enough, can't even park an RV in your yard.
