Just got back from work. Good and bad news coming.
My '88 Mustang Son is coming over in the next hour with his fiance and I know they are going to tell us that they changed their minds and will be wed this year, probably September.
This will mean no 450hp Mustang on the road this year, you know the one I spent a year back halving, ladder bars and shortening the rear end. The one she wants driving more than him, now I know why he's been troubled everytime I mentioned it as he's been saving his dough for this.
Now I'll have to buy a new suit........Damn you Love!

Cutting the yard today then working on the car a while, got the shifting on it working better but it seams like you have to really get on it in order for it to shift when you first take off?.....anyways I will mess with it some more today..

No that 5th wheel was the one I sold about 2-3 months ago, looking for something shorter or a toy hauler, fixing to get me a Polaris Ranger and want to haul everything at one time with mountain bikes.

Went to St Thomas Dragway this morning for Mopar Day to see 7 Super Stock Hemis run the 1/8th, way too hot for me. Shawn made three runs last night until an oil leak sidelined him, the whole family was there, even Mom. First two runs the car bogged off the line until I told him to leave at 5000rpm and dump the clutch the whole car body lifted like it should and showed success which made him happy. Ran a 14 second with a 1.9 60ft, so there's some work to be done. Not enough HP and too big of a tire, but we'll get there, he's getting more comfortable with his burnout starting line procedure. Nothing fell off, the new front wheels and tires drive safer and driver is getting comfortable with the 4 speed.

Morning, very hot here in Southwestern Ontario this weekend. Shawn is bummed out trying to change oil pan gasket on Demon, Milodon main caps not in yet for new engine, I refit and welded the left fenderwell collector for more tire clearance yesterday, making a solid trans mount this morning.
He's gone to Port Elgin to buy some camper trailer jacks this morning, maybe he comes home happy.
The poor kid has the not going the way I'd hoped "Race Car Blues".

Makes me remember how much work goes into a RACE CAR and how frustrating it can be, but when things go good, oh how good it is!

His brother and I have been his biggest cheerleaders to keep his spirits up. He was talking about back or front halving the car this winter and then the other end the next. This car was a death trap when he got it and everything he has done has been to make it safe, but he still would like that tire lifting car first time out.
After replacing the UCA bushings he shocked me and said after all these new parts the chassis is solid and the good 60ft time showing the back end is working he will run it like it is for a couple of years with the new engine next year.
This made me very happy as he needs to stop fabbing and fixing and just have some fun while working on his driving. He plans on joining ONDR (Ontario Nostalgic Drag Racers) and going to a meet next weekend. I know they will love to have him as he is a bit of an old soul and they love the new young guys keeping it going.
I love this kid!

Having a coffee with the dog. Son got the Demon back together and is going to the track today. He wants me to go but I can't because I'm on call for work. Suppose to rain in the afternoon and will make it humid with the hot the next couple of days. I hate the humidity, knocks the **** out of me. Have a happy day everyone.

Good Morning... Going to hot here in SO-CAL.. Going up to Hot 96*F... I have not been feeling great this weekend for some unknown resson? So I have been just doing little things this weekend. Might just be whats in the air from the local fires we have been having? I really dont know. Soooo I have been watching a little of the awesome Canadian I.H.R.A. Grand Bend Nationals. Thanks too MMTV.COM for the links to lots of good racing.
Dan: Glad the kid got the Mopar back together, Hope he has a great time at the track if he goes. keep us posted... I also hate hot/Humid weather.. I'm only good to about 80*F tops anymore and them I start overheating, Got to go find some shade..lol So I can relate to that..
Y'all have a great day.... Come on in and tell us what you got going on today....
