I'm sad...

So today i was helping my cousin look for a new car at a local car shop. The owner is really nice and works with young guys like ourselves. We got done talking to the fella about an eighties Fifth Avenue and as im climbing back in the Ram i look up the hill and there she was. I could tell right off the bat it was a 67-68 fury, just couldnt tell the trim. I walked up and saw it was a VIP and my heart almost flew out of my chest. I looked at the hood emblem to see if it was a 383 and it sure was. I went back down to the garage and asked the old man about it. He told me it was his own personal car and he bought it new..stored it in 1980 and hasnt had it out since. I asked him what the number on her was and was expecting something around 2000, 1800 at least. He tells me 800 dollars would take it home tonight........ Earlier this summer i chose to take the whole summer off rather than working and therefore can not buy this old gem. Body was mint and it had 49,000 on the odometer. Interior looked like it did when it rolled off the line..absolutley perfect..beaded seats and all...I dont think ive ever been so depressed...

Take out a loan before someone else grabs it.

That will work to. If you were close enough I would be your step uncle and purchase it.

This sound like a "lifetime" deal

You need to put away the beer, the pepsi, the video games, and get with this

THINK. ASK IMAGINE. Come up with ways to finance this.

What DO you have for finances, job, money, and what are your prospects?

Do you live in the area? Can you help "work this off" by doing things around the ownner's property? How 'bout running errands for him? Does he have transport? Maybe you can "driving miss daisy"

Ask your friends your relatives, and look for a JOB

What motor is in it?

With a seized motor its tough to say without seeing it (POST SOME PICS!) but you can start by draining the oil, putting new oil in it, change the filter, pull each plug and squirt some Marvel Mystery oil into each cylinder and let it sit for a couple of hours. Go back, squirt a little more Marvel into each cylinder and then try and rotate the motor by hand.

That is assuming it's been sitting for a short time. If it were me, I'd pull the motor and go through it. A simple bearing and gasket kit are not that much and its a great experience to have. You don't need to add any performance parts to it, just "freshen" it up so that it can be driven.

IMO - I wouldn't even try to break it free, good choice on pulling it.

Beg, borrow and, well dont steal, but you can get creative and get 800 bucks. I just did 5K loan for my 340 Duster that I waited 30 plus years for.

Take pictures of it, and your Ram, get a part time job , get a bank account , ask the, clean up, sell your self to the loan officer, you can get 800 bucks.
