leaking oil?

I just put my new edelbock intake on the 318 and my Mopar Performance valve covers dont seem to fit very snugly and they seem to leak oil. Any suggestions?

what type of gasket did you use?
you might have overtightened the gasket, or not tightened it enough

I torqued the covers to 80 inch/lbs.

And yes, they are the same covers i had with the old intake.

The mp covers, i think are not good for sealing, every motor Ive worked on for people theyve leaked, massivly. Ive had to use the mr. gasket compressible gaskets w/ the steel cores. adn then rtv the heck out of them especially on the bottom rail between the middle two bolts on the bottom side of the cover, i have also found that they warp after a season or two. same area, they shrink up a tad. I never ran them because of all the probs, Ive seen w/ other people.doesnt matter ither small block to big block, they all have the same prob. especially w/ headers. the #1 tube runs over the top and so close to the bottom of the cover that all that heat just attacks the bottom of the cover.
