I did get a new cam but did not come with the lifters...I just was not sure if I could use the old lifters or not.

Definitely DO NOT use the old lifters Look up www.summitracing.com They should have several choices to match your cam brand..

Those Magnum lifters are good high rpm HP lifters with very little preload but, the clips that hold the plunger are a pain, pain, pain in the rear. The clips in the other lifter shown is what you should get and put in place of the them. The Magnum ones are like a spring washer and when you just touch the edge with the pushrod they pop out. Hard to line up all 16 when you drop the shaft on, even with adjustables.

I ended up calling Comp cam and getting some from them and 2 bottles of Zink for the oil..He said once you break in the cam with Zink change the oil and add Zink in it again.

I never had problems with the push rods. I used to lay a long piece of coat hanger on the head to keep them lined up
