Looking for some help

B once knowing the name, I am looking to find out where I can find that color for my pickup. Thanks for any help.

I am not sure of the color that 78d referenced but mopar did have a bright metallic blue in the late 60's. The code for the color was "B 5".
There was also a color on the 72 {i think} dodge pickup called "basin street blue" that kinda looked like "Petty blue" of the race car color. No metellic on the last one {that I could tell }.
Of course they had other blue colors also [like B-3 or B-7]

yeah, I realize the "Petty blu" was special order.{rare color actuall}. But I do remember the basin street blue came out some time in the early 70's and on the dodge pickups. I think it was Dodge's way to copy the Petty blue but not exactly the same. I remember an add for a early to mid 70's duster [maybe dart] that had the car advertised and it was the "basin street blue." I think it may have had a hint of some metallic in it. Wish I could find that ad right now cause I know I got it somewhere. The paint code for it in 72 was TB3. It was called Basin street blue for plymouth and Super blue for dodge. Kind of a way for the factory to copy the petty blue without having to pay Petty I guess.
As far as paint and colors. Any bodyshop supply can mix the exact color/shade/tint whatever you want you only need to supply the year/make and paint code. any color can be had in single stage (means paint it on and you're done) or base coat clear coat.
Yes Tim, thanks for finding that one. And I didn't know that any shop can just mix it for you. Thanks for that info Crazy for Cars. I'm thinking of doing that color combo on my new pickup, lowering it a few inches to get a more aggressive stance, and trying to find some rally wheels. Do the satin black on the top of the fenders and hood, and the grill, and then paint the front bumper that blue, and do a blue rollpan in the back. Get a vinyl top for the cab, and get a black vinyl Bed cover for it. then work on the horses....i'm thinking 440? haha
I freaking love 1969 1/2 440-6 SuperBees in Butterscotch. I can't explain why...I fell in love with one years ago at a Mopar show in Spokane.
