Matching Numbers?

Matching Numbers?
I have a 1969 Roadrunner that I've owned since 2008. When I purchased the car I was told that the drive train was "Matching Numbers". I never really cared that much or bothered to check. But I just went through a lengthy restoration and started to check the Fender Tag and VIN to correct some little things. When I crawled up under the car I could see the Casting Date and Code clearly on the engine on the passanger side. The Casting Date concerns me as is 6/10/68 and this is a 1969 model year. The fender tag shows a build date of 6/27 but no year and I don't have a build sheet. So my first question would be did Plymouth release models early like they do with current car manufacturers? The car is show as a Y16 Car meaning it was not a special ordered car, it was just put into dealer inventory and sold as is. The Casting Code is 2468130.9 which tells me it is a 383ci engine built between 1968 and 1970. So at least if it is not matching it is "correct" as the fender tag confirms the car is a 383ci car.
I'm guessing the only real way to tell is to find the VIN that is supposed to be stamped on the Engine Block. I could not see it anywhere near the other two numbers, the Casting Date & Code. Since it is a "Stamp" as well I'm assuming it is smallish and the fact that it is near 50 years old might be difficult to see. If I knew its exact location that sure would help.
Thanks
Ron

It's very easy to Google location of the VIN number for a big block Mopar, so why haven't you done it?
