MOPAR judging question

I am going to be judging a local car show that will have several MOPAR's along with other street rods and classics. One of the classes is a Best MOPAR.

There are several 60 series MOPAR's and one 1938 Dodge street rod...would the Dodge fall into the MOPAR category or the street rod category?.

Thanks

Chuck

Huh. Does the owner get any say? I'd be willing to be he has an opinion on it, and likely he'd want to be in street rods.

Mopar Judging

Absolutely but in this case the registration form does not allow the driver to specify the class. My question is should the 38 be judged in the street rod class or best MOPAR class. I have a 63 Dodge 330 blown Hemi car and have been at a lot of shows and have always considered the best MOPAR class 60 series Dodge / Plymouth....

Thanks

Chuck

ah, yeah, i see. that's a tough one.

if i had to go out on a limb i'd put it in MOPAR. better chances with all the chevy crap out there.

unless, that is, he's running an HEI 350 crate like all the other yokels with street rods.

Here is how I see it:

You have "sub"-categories like "street rod", "muscle car", "sport", etc. where all the cars will fall into and could win an award. Then you'll have larger, more "common" categories for Mopar, Chevy, Ford, etc. where you have your "best of".

If all you are having is a "Best of" and the 38 Dodge is all Mopar, then I would put it in the Mopar class.

Do you have a picture of the 38 Dodge? That would really help.

I'd agree with 78D, if it's all Mopar, it can fit into the Mopar class. Most definitions I've heard of Street Rod cuts it off at 1958, and I'd say it would more readily fit into that class, especially if it's had modifications and updates to it.
