No they will not. I have had both motors and nothing is interchangable between the two.

The slant 6s are not interchangable with the inline 6s.

Chrysler did take over the 258 inline 6 in the 70s and came up with the 4.0 in the early 90s.

Even those there are some parts that are not. I know that you can bolt on a 4.0 head onto a 4.2 but there is some work to be done.
