My MOPAR cousin ( AMC Eagle )

1986 AMC Eagle station wagon. Original color unknown, currently flat black. 258 - 6 cyl. ( hopefully soon to be AMC 360 4 Bbl. ). Auto, 4wd ( standard on AMC Eagle ). Exterior kinda rough ( flat black on everything ), interior fair. Drove it home ( stopping every 50 miles to add 2 [ or more ] qts. of oil ). Hope this is okay, not an " original Mopar, but Mopar DID buy AMC out. Pictures to follow.

The 258 inline 6s are known to leak oil here and there (valve cover, oil pan, rear main seal, etc.)

O.T.R., one of the reasons I haven't been on here lately. I joined up with them a few months ago. You're right, it's a great site.

I am glad you have found a car you really like. But stick around more we like having you here.

Try to remember to check in here once in a while to see what's happening. CRS & AAADD, sometimes I don't make it.

Now if old AMCs are allowed on here would the likes of Mitsubish Eclipses and 3000GTs be as well since they're just a Plymouth Laser/Eagle Talon and Dodge Stealth with different badges?

Some of them actually had plastic valve covers, mine had already been replaced with a nice aftermarket aluminum one. Unfortunately, I also have a rear main out. Shop here quoted me at 5½ hours labor. Because of the 4wd, you have to pull the engine. IF I ever get the money, I still intend to put an AMC 360 in it. The Eagle is currently in Ill. awaiting me to get the money for an EXTREME makeover. Guy there is going to re-paint ( 2 tone ), install interior, swap rear hatches ( currently have the rear window heater, swap will add wiper / washer also ), install all the missing plastic, un-paint the chrome ( currently flat black ), swap the Mickey Mouse mirrors for Eagle mirrors, & some other small stuff. Grand total parts & labor LESS THAN $1,500.00 plus my dragging his trailer & another Eagle to him ( which I did at the same time I took my Eagle there ). Plans when I get it back are to just drive it with the leak & keep the oil full ( until I get the money for a 360 ).
